An original creation by Sthan KABAR-LOUET for the New Caledonia Contemporary Dance Company.
At the dawn of the world, legends, spirits, and human beings emerged upon the vast blue planet that is our home, suspended in the universe. Somewhere in the heart of the Pacific Ocean lies a small strip of land, rich in mysteries, legends, and ancestral stories.
Drawing inspiration from New Caledonian mythology, choreographer Sthan KABAR-LOUET presents a new choreographic work based on the story of Téa Kanaké, a being born from the Tooth of the Moon, placed upon a rock in the Ocean of Origins. Five major stages mark the life journey of this mythical character, portrayed in turn by five different dancers.
The New Caledonia Contemporary Dance Company is supported by the Government of New Caledonia, Province Sud, Province Nord, the Cultural Affairs Mission (French State), the Conservatory of Music and Dance of New Caledonia, and the City of Nouméa.
Additional support is provided by valued sponsors including the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, SLN – Le Nickel, Les Casinos de Nouméa, and Radio Rythme Bleu.
