Sympho'Us, or The Symphony of Customs and Traditions, is a 90-minute choreographic work created by Sthan KABAR-LOUET in 2007 and performed at the Sisia Theatre of the Tjibaou Cultural Centre.
This ballet draws inspiration from James Cook and his historic discovery of New Caledonia, exploring the encounter between cultures, the richness of Oceanian traditions, and the evolution of customs through time. Through a fusion of contemporary choreography and cultural symbolism, the work celebrates the diversity and heritage of New Caledonia.
Performed by: Karbal Nouméa Ballet
The company is supported by the Government of New Caledonia, Province Sud, the Cultural Affairs Mission (French State), the Tjibaou Cultural Centre, and the City of Nouméa.
Additional support is provided by valued sponsors including the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, SLN – Le Nickel, and Radio Rythme Bleu.
