Welcome!
Thank you for choosing to share this performance with us.
The Silent Cry of the Flowers is a contemporary choreographic work exploring, through the language of the body, themes of exile, resilience and hope.
Rather than telling a single story, the work invites each audience member to experience their own emotions. Movement replaces words, silence becomes eloquent, and flowers emerge as symbols of both fragility and renewal.
Performed by nine dancers from New Caledonia, this production is the result of several months of artistic research, bringing together dance, music and visual poetry.
Following its premiere performances in New Caledonia, The Silent Cry of the Flowers now continues its journey in Australia, with performances on 29 and 30 August 2026 at the Thomas Dixon Centre in Brisbane, home of Queensland Ballet.
We are delighted to share this work with Australian audiences and hope you enjoy discovering The Silent Cry of the Flowers.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes (no interval)

“Before the curtain rises…”
Some works are born from an idea.
Others are born from necessity.
The Silent Cry of the Flowers was born from the need to transform profound emotions into movement.
I never wanted to tell the story of a particular event. I wanted to explore what each of us may feel when confronted with fear, separation, silence or hope.
Dance has this unique power: it does not provide answers. It opens pathways.
Each audience member will discover their own story through the journey of the dancers.
Flowers naturally became an essential part of the work. Fragile and silent, they nevertheless carry within them an extraordinary capacity for renewal. They became the thread running throughout this creation.
I would like to thank the nine dancers who have brought this work to life with immense generosity, as well as everyone who has supported us throughout this journey.
I wish you a beautiful journey.
Sthan KABAR-LOUËT
The Silent Cry of the Flowers brings together nine dancers from the Sthan KABAR-LOUËT L’Avant-Scène Centre de Danse, each with a different background, united by the same artistic commitment and a shared desire to make dance a universal language. Together, they bring to life a work in which technique serves emotion.

“Sometimes the quietest flowers tell the greatest stories.”
Just a few weeks after its premiere in New Caledonia, The Silent Cry of the Flowers continues its journey here in Australia.
On 29 and 30 August 2026, nine dancers from New Caledonia have the immense privilege of presenting this work at the Thomas Dixon Centre in Brisbane, home of Queensland Ballet, and sharing their artistry with Australian audiences.
Beyond these two performances, this journey carries a broader ambition: to bring choreographic creation from New Caledonia to new audiences, build new bridges with our Pacific neighbours, and progressively connect our artists with the international performing arts community.
Because culture is also a powerful way of bringing people together, these performances in Brisbane represent much more than an international tour: they are an opportunity for encounter, dialogue and exchange across the Pacific.
This Australian premiere would not have been possible without the trust, commitment and invaluable support of our partners.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the French Embassy in Australia, the French Ministry of Culture – FEAC, the Government of New Caledonia, Province Sud, the Honorary Consulate of France in Brisbane, the Alliance Française de Brisbane, Queensland Ballet and the Thomas Dixon Centre.
To each of you, thank you for helping make this journey from New Caledonia to Brisbane possible.
We would also like to thank the Dance Events & Projects Association — Pascale Paret, President; Jean-Maurice Sotirio, Treasurer; and Diane Rodriguez, Secretary — as well as all our partners, volunteers, technicians, families and friends who have supported this journey with generosity and trust.
And finally, thank you to you, our audience, for being part of this new chapter in our journey.
“A creation born in New Caledonia, brought all the way to Australia thanks to the trust of our partners and the loyalty of our audiences.”
